When you’re not using your Mac, it goes to sleep and hibernates until you need it again. This quite useful option can be very annoying on those occasions when you have to work with the Mac but not continuously. That’s why amphetamine was launched six years ago, an App that prevented the computer from falling into that dream. Now those responsible for the app store have requested that change the name if you want to continue.
The application called amphetamine and which is in the Mac App Store as one of the best applications to prevent the Mac from going to sleep when we do not want to, its days are numbered. At least with this name.
Apple has communicated to its developer, William Gustafson that you should change the name of the application because it violates the legal terms established in the store. In fact, it is argued that those “applications that encourage the consumption of tobacco or wading products, illegal drugs or excessive amounts of alcohol are not allowed in the App Store ”.
It seems that due to the name of the application, amphetamine, it can generate that we are in this section. So must be removed from the store Unless its developer renames it.
That would mean new publicity for it, an inconvenience since everyone already knows it. Notify all users who already use it, that the name will be changed due to legal issues. So you must launch an update of the App before January 12. Maximum period to adopt a solution, if not the App will be eliminated.
The developer is not quite sure what the reason is for this happening at the moment, as has been on the Mac App Store since 2014 and has never had any problems. What’s more, Apple has listed it as one of the applications selected by the company itself and encourages you to use it.
The application is no longer available in the App Store
