Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs the acclaimed and beloved Apple co-founder was one of the most important people, if not the most important, to influence the Apple we know today. He was the one who laid the foundations of a company that is now a leader in its sector. For that reason and for many other things, such as the way he understood life, he will be one of the people who is commemorated in the Upcoming National Garden of American Heroes.

On July 4, 2020, Donald Trump announced from Mount Rushmore in Keystone, South Dakota, who would do everything possible to erect a new memorial in honor of all those who have been especially important to the lives of Americans. Steve Jobs is one of those people and his figure will be in that garden. In a new order issued by the current presidency, you can read:

«The National Garden will be built to reflect the amazing splendor of the timeless exceptionalism of our country. It will be a place where citizens, young and old, can renew their vision of greatness. The statues chosen will embody the American spirit of fearlessness and defiance, excellence and adventure, courage and confidence, loyalty and love. The chosen personalities have been chosen for their indispensable contribution to the history of the United States.

The list covers a wide range of people and subjects, from the Wright brothers and Albert Einstein to singers like Johnny Cash and Billie Holiday. We will also be able to see characters that have marked an entire generation and still continue to mark those to come such as Martin Luther King, Jr and Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The original order had a deadline of July 4, 2026, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the proclamation of the Declaration of Independence. So it still seems that we have to see it finished, but it seems that it is starting up and little by little the sculptures will appear.
