Apple already announced the function when the new iPhones were presented: The iPhone 12 Pro (Max) supports the new Apple ProRAW file format with the new version of the operating system. In the settings menu under camera the user can activate the feature. It should be noted that the new format is not exactly data-saving: the photos are around 25 MB in size.
Apple also shows loudly 9to5Mac will probably offer alternatives to standard apps in selected countries in the future – already during the setup process. Cupertino would like to meet the antitrust framework.
Air quality information, support from Ecosia
The health app now has a new area for pregnancies and two new gamepads are supported: the Amazon Luna and Sony’s DualSense controller, which is included with the PlayStation 5. App clip codes can be scanned in via the camera or the control center, and the home app now informs users when updates are available for compatible accessories. There are also indications in the beta of a new cardio workout with the Apple Watch. Also new: Ecosia is now also listed as a possible standard search engine and the weather app provides health information on air quality in selected countries – including Germany.
Again references to AirTags and AirPods Studio
The “Where is?” App seems to contain more references to AirTags: in one hidden area of application There is support for the tracking accessories – third-party providers also seem to have access to them. Anyone who finds an item with an AirTag can simply scan the accessories and find out who the owner is. A long-running rumor mill could soon be ready for the market: 9to5Mac discovered a pictogram of the headphone in the current beta.
Downgrade is no longer possible
Apple stopped signing iOS and iPadOS 14.1. A downgrade to this version is therefore excluded from today.
