Handy and portable
Apples newest product differs from other chargers primarily in terms of handiness: the loading surfaces can be folded up and stowed away quickly. This makes the accessories more portable than some alternatives. When opened, it offers space for two devices compatible with Qi, for example AirPods – Apple underlines the effectiveness of the MagSafe Duo but above all with the iPhone and the Apple Watch. For the latter, the charger has a special finesse: The charging puck can be brought into an upright position to get a better look at the watch.
Pay attention to a suitable power supply unit
Interested parties should pay attention to the correct power supply: In addition to the charger, buyers will only find a USB-C to Lightning cable with a length of one meter in the scope of delivery. This means that the USB-C power adapter costs just under 25 euros. The charger enables an output of up to 11 watts – Apple’s conventional MagSafe charger, on the other hand, creates up to 15 watts. If you want to achieve an output of up to 14 watts (and thus a little faster charging), you have to dig deeper into your pocket: Cupertino recommends a power supply that provides at least 27 watts of power – but has no corresponding accessories in its portfolio. A 30 watt power adapter costs 53.60 euros: customers have to shell out up to 200 euros for the entire package.
