Dropouts with the mouse
YouTuber Patrick Tomasso reports sporadic dropouts that show up when using Bluetooth accessories and the new Mac mini. He holds the phenomenon in one Video fixed: If Tomasso moves his mouse, this sometimes has no effect on the cursor – especially with small control surfaces, such as are common in video editing programs, this quickly leads to displeasure on the part of the user. With some users, the computer does not recognize the Bluetooth device at all – those affected have to set up with wired accessories. In addition, input devices in the form of keyboards and mice are the norm, especially with the Mac mini – which could explain why the bug was first discovered only with this model. Meanwhile, however, in forums like Reddit also the complaints of owners of the MacBook Air and Pro with M1 chip.
Other accessories also affected
All Bluetooth devices seem to be equally affected by the problems – Apple’s own products are no exception: the AirPods are also said to have to struggle with connection problems. So far it is unclear whether it is a hardware or software error. Users of Logitech accessories know how to help themselves with a workaround: With the “Unifying Receiver” dongle for the USB connection, keyboards and mice from the company would no longer quit their service, report those affected.
