Everything is great – except for the battery life
The Verge stressed, you get a technical masterpiece with the iPhone 12 mini, because Apple only had to cut back on one point. In view of the smaller case, there is not so much space for the battery – and this is the only weakness of the smartphone. With active use or computationally intensive tasks, you can almost observe how the battery indicator counts down. The tester always had to reload in the early evening, the differences to the larger iPhone 12 are clear. The runtime cannot be described as bad – but also not as good.
Target group: Who doesn’t want a big smartphone
On the other hand, other aspects are rated as faultless, in which The Verge, TechCrunch, Wall Street Journal and others agree. The display is convincing, the performance is impressive and the camera quality is also way ahead. The latter in particular is anything but natural with compact smartphones. For fans of thumb operation, there is also the advantage of being able to reach the entire display area. Joanna Stern (WSJ) adds that you don’t cover your entire face when you make a phone call. However, the offered battery performance is “not as fun” as she argues. Raymond Wong from Input clearly sees the target group as those users who primarily need a small smartphone but who do not want to compromise on performance.
