What’s new in iOS 14.3
It is still unknown which of the recently discussed problems Apple is addressing in addition to the improvements already known. For example, it is necessary to combat excessively high battery consumption – both slightly older iPhones since iOS 14.2 () and the iPhone 12 () affected. Unfortunately, there is nothing to read about this in the version description. Instead, Apple lists MMS reception, the display of videos in the Photos app, the Bluetooth settings that have disappeared for some users and a slowdown in the use of the MagSafe Duo.
On the feature front, owners of the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max can look forward to the new ProRAW photo format – although this is only aimed at users with the highest photography ambitions. Also new: the pregnancy section in the health app, shortcut execution directly on the home screen and scan of app clips via camera or control center.
In the case of macOS 11.1, a release can be expected within the next two weeks – although the beta phase began later than with iOS 14.3. The first update to macOS Big Sur focuses on bug fixes. On the one hand, Apple dedicated itself to system restoration on M1 Macs, on the other hand there are various improvements for Rosetta 2. As soon as the new system version is on the market, Windows apps can also be run on the new Macs via crossover. However, no new beta or RC version was released tonight.
AirPods Max support
What all new system versions have in common is that this support is only just starting Bring the AirPods Max featured. According to the product description, Apple’s new high-end headphones require iOS 14.3, macOS Big Sur 11.1, watchOS 7.2 or tvOS 14.3. This had already leaked in the first beta – which had given clear indications of the AirPods Max announcement.
