US price excluding VAT
When considering it, it is important that dollar prices in the USA are always quoted without sales tax or sales tax – depending on the country / state, the final price either already includes sales tax or has to be added. In some US states, however, there is no sales tax at all (Oregon, Montana, New Hampshire, Delaware), in others it is usually quite low.
Where iPhones are particularly expensive
If you include all regional circumstances, iPhones are the cheapest for residents of the four countries listed above. Unless regional sales tax is added, the invoice total for an iPhone 12 Pro Max with 512 GB is $ 1,399. In Japan, however, it is already $ 200 more, in Germany the equivalent of an additional $ 350. It will continue to be particularly expensive in Brazil, where the buyer has to budget a whopping 2500 dollars. Tecnoblog summarizes it in the following order:
- Brazil: US $ 2,535
- India: US $ 2,159
- Italy: US $ 1,946
- Portugal: US $ 1,934
- France: US $ 1,911
- Germany: US $ 1,851
- Japan: US $ 1,602
- Hong Kong: US $ 1,523
- United States: US $ 1,399
Conversely, this results in another observation: Anyone who has $ 1,400 in the USA can afford the largest iPhone with the best equipment. With the same budget, however, it is only possible to buy the iPhone 12 mini with 128 GB in Brazil. Incidentally, this would look different if the iPhones were produced directly in Brazil – then the huge surcharges for imported technology goods would be eliminated.
