Apple has the new one for this Website “Ethics and Compliance” released, which gives users a quick overview of Apple’s compliance activities. Tim Cook provides the motto: “We do the right thing – even if it is not easy.” The company conducts all business activities honestly, in accordance with the law and in compliance with ethical standards. The ethical component is just as important for Apple’s success as the company’s products, according to the website text.
Sanctions for employee compliance violations
Apple’s compliance guidelines are set out in the Business Conduct Policy, which summarizes all ethical requirements for employees. Every employee of the company must sign the rules, which are regularly adapted to political and social developments, once a year. Anyone who violates this can be fired. There are also annual compliance training courses and a helpline for questions. 2020 alone completed Apple employees over 555,000 individual compliance courses. Related topics include business, politics, export and sanctions, health, anti-trust guidelines and anti-corruption laws. Suppliers also receive appropriate training.
