Apple was one of the first providers to advertise massively outside the USA with special offers for Black Friday. That day was therefore considered unusual in the industry insofar as discounts at Apple are extremely rare. This year there are no direct discounts, but an iTunes gift card when purchasing certain products. Up to 150 euros are possible – although this maximum value can only be achieved with the most expensive devices. For example, the iPhone costs 50 euros, the Apple Watch and AirPods only 25 euros, the iPad 100 euros – and for the purchase of a Mac the said 150 euros. However: Not for the new M1 Macs, which doesn’t make the offer particularly attractive.
Amazon organizes the shopping event in the well-known manner, namely with time-limited lightning deals and discounts that are available throughout the day. When searching for Apple products you will find the reduced Apple Watch 5, the Apple Pencil from first and second Generation that Magic trackpad as well as that Smart keyboard. There are no surprises, with the exception of the Apple Watch, the price promotions were already known from Prime Day.
The MediaMarkt retail chain relies on two campaigns at the same time. On the one hand there is the “Black Friday Week”, on the other hand the “Black Friday Weekend”. The offers range from various televisions and household appliances to Apple electronics such as the 2020 iPhone SE with 64 GB for 399 euros or iPhone 11 for 599 euros. The iMac 27 “ sells the provider for 1461 euros instead of 2064 euros – according to the product number, it is the 2019 and not the 2020 model.
The German mobile phone giant has various special offers until next Tuesday. In addition to cheaper smartphones (the iPhone SE is part of the party, the current top models are not), Telekom is also clearing 50% discount on Apple’s iPhone cases.
On our own behalf: Synium Software, operator of MacTechNews.de, is also currently offering a discount. However, this only coincidentally coincides with Black Friday – the 50% discount on all Mac apps was launched in view of the new M1 Macs.
