Apple on Tuesday announced the list of songs and albums of Apple Music highest-played of the year, along with corresponding playlists generated from Apple’s integrated services like Shazam.

Posted in a series of “Top 100” charts added to the Apple Music navigation page, the 2020 title track trophy was Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” with over 455 million streams worldwide. Apple highlighted this achievement at its second annual Apple Music Awards in November.
The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” and Tones And I’s “Dance Monkey” came in second and third, respectively. DaBaby’s “ROCKSTAR,” featuring Ricch, came in fourth and Future’s “Life is Good” rounded out the top five.
Ricch’s “Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial” was the most played album of the year, followed by Lil Baby’s “My Turn,” Pop Smoke’s “Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon,” and “LUV vs. World 2 ″ by Lil Uzi Vert. . Summer Walker’s “Over It” came in fifth.
The song “Dance Monkey” topped a new chart for 2020 taking the “Most Shazamed song” recognition with 24.6 million Shazam’s worldwide.
Another new category was introduced, “most read letters”, describes the participation of the user activating the live letters function. Cardi B’s song “WAP” topped the chart this year with a slew of users spending around 372,000 hours reading the song’s lyrics.
